Zachary Baumann, Ph.D.
Old Main 305
I was born and raised in rural Nebraska, earning my B.S. in Political Science from Baker University in 2005 and a Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi in 2009. Following graduation, I served as a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the Pennsylvania State University and as an Assistant Professor at Florida Southern College before joining the faculty at Nebraska Wesleyan University in 2020. My teaching and research interests lie in American politics, where my primary focus is on state governments, public policy, elections, and parties. I have broad research interests and have published on the use of technology in the classroom, the impact of electoral competition on state policy, and the decision to vote in primary elections.
